Let’s talk about incorporating the promotion of your business into your everyday life. When you start a small business one of the hardest things is getting yourself known.
I have a list of things to help your offline or online business get known without spending a lot of time or money.
- Get a Facebook and Twitter account for your business and keep them updated. These two social media sites are wildly popular and great to get information out fast and to a lot of people. Let people know of promotions you have going on just some information concerning your business. It is becoming very common for people to check status updates or wall posts regularly. Both of these sites are fairly simple to use but if you’re unsure how to go about it there are plenty of companies or individuals who offer business start up help (for cheap) or ask someone you know who is familiar with them (maybe someone young).
- Talk about your business whenever you get the chance. Whether you are riding the bus and chatting with the person sitting next to you or you got hired to speak at an event, telling people about you and your business is always a great idea. This is so simple and easy to incorporate into your everyday life, since I’m assuming most people have some contact with other individuals throughout the day.
- Add a sentence or two about your business to your email signature. Billions of emails are sent out around the world every day. I know I send about 30 each day. If there are people that I am emailing that don’t know about my business, simply including one to two sentences about my business can get me more visibility. Again, this is very simple and easy to incorporate into your regular emails. I would actually suggest permanently adding a few sentences to your signature; be simple yet informative.
Gaining visibility doesn’t have to hard. Add these simple tips to your business startup checklist and you will see results in no time.
